PRITI AND RAMAVTAR SINGH FARM

From their hilltop farm above the town of Fremont they grow Lamb Hass and Bacon avocados. You heard that right: avocados in Fremont. Over the past 25 years, doctors Ram and Priti have developed their passion for fresh produceand turned it into a 12-acre farm in the backyard of the Irvington Farmers Market. Ram says the weather in Fremont is conducive to early April avocado harvests which can last through October. Not bad for a geographic area where no one thought it was possible to grow avocados!
