The orchid flower is well known for the massive array of different colors, shapes, scents, and sizes that can be found. In the wild, orchids can be found growing on the ground, on trees, or on rocks. Some orchids smell like chocolate; others resemble bumblebees. At our markets, we have quite the selection of this beautiful, crowd-pleasing flower that will continue to flower for many weeks with proper watering and care.
When shopping for an orchid, the plant should be proportionate to the container. The roots should be firmly in the media, clean and unblemished. The roots should be stiff, green, and free of pests. The flowers should be lustrous and strongly attached to the stem. They should be unblemished, free of fungal spotting, and still have some unopened buds that will flower over the course of time.
