Dear Deb – December 2024

This month’s column comes with a bittersweet twist—there are no questions to answer, but that’s because Deb and the Dear Deb column are signing off for now. After 19 enjoyable years at PCFMA, I’m retiring.

It’s hard to say goodbye to such an incredible community—my colleagues, the farmers, and all the amazing people who make our farmers’ markets thrive. But it’s time to turn the page and start a new chapter. I’m excited to dig into a new phase of my life filled with more time for family, friends, travel, and, of course, checking off a few things on my bucket list!

After 55 years of non-stop work, the thing I’m most looking forward to in retirement is the freedom to do whatever I please—whether that means putting my feet up with a good book or taking a cruise to Alaska, planting flowers in my yard or volunteering at the animal shelter!

I’ll always treasure the time spent answering your thoughtful questions, supporting farmers and markets, and working alongside such a dedicated team here at PCFMA. Though I’m stepping away from my day-to-day role, I’ll continue to cheer on the farmers and markets that have meant so much to me.

Thank you all for being a part of this journey!

With gratitude,
Deb
